Client Case Study: Stacey Lee's Centre Stage
Client Case Study: Stacey Lee's Centre Stage
The Brief:
This client had her original website built on Wordpress, and whilst she had access to the backend, she had two main problems with the previous model:
She found Wordpress a confusing platform to work with, and could not make changes and updates easily & quickly
The previous design - whilst typical of a performing arts school - didn’t reflect the warm, welcoming environment that made her school unique.
The client also needed classes to be easier to find & choose based on a variety of needs website visitors brought with them when viewing the site.
The Website
I overhauled the structure of the website to create a more logical user flow from the home page through to enrolment. Website visitors can now search for classes by day & time, by age, by type or skillset. This follow an in depth discussion on considering the mindset of potential customers, and how they might be looking for answers on the site.
There were other niggling features that were optimised, including an interactive timetable that linked directly to the classes in the schedule, allowing for a smoother transition from browsing to enroling.
Website features
Built in Squarespace, allowing for easy use by in-house admin team who have a range of technological experience from beginners to advanced
Video on the home page to better reflect the diversity of experiences on offer, whilst also creating a more dynamic first impression with the website
Typing text feature on the home page, again outlining the inclusive & diverse nature of the school
Interactive timetable that links through to classes - however, this is actually an embedded Google Sheet, making it super easy for the client’s team to update without even having to log into the website.
Instagram gallery feed in the footer that automatically updates with fresh content, giving browsers a reason to connect on other platforms.
Custom accent font, positioning the brand as energetic, bright and fun.
